Are You A Poker All Star?

Do you play poker? I don't mind a game of Texas Hold 'em Up But only with real cards and real people of course Online gambling isn't my thing But I did see an ad for an online gambling site which reminded of plenty of the modern men I come across It talked about how some people are already poker players "without even realising it" This particular ad used the poker art of 'bluffing' as its example How many people have frequently managed to 'bluff' themselves, The chin up bar installed in the door frame, from when you promised yourself you'd get in shape The outrageously intellectual book you keep

5 Steps To Glory

As we're approaching the end of the year, it's always good to reflect on what you have achieved. Are you any closer to the physique you want? Or are you still sucking that stomach in? When you set your goals for 2017, will they be any different to the ones you set for 2016 or have to seen the progression you

The Path Of The Selfish Man

Being Selfish. It's often frowned upon as a bad thing, A negative personality trait that you were chastised about as a child. It's also associated with feelings of guilt, especially some of the guys i speak to. When they're choosing to spend time working, instead of at home. Spending money to mask the pain and insecurities they have. All whilst pretending that everything is "Fine", still acting like the 'jolly, happy go-lucky guy', to go with the jolly, 'cuddly' body they're privately ashamed of. Guys that consider coming into Alpha Man Elite often have some feelings of guilt for wanting to take care of themselves and taking back control of their lives.

Nuisance Neighbour From Hell

A couple of years ago, I had this neighbour living next door. A major pain in the arse! She thought it was perfectly acceptable to play music at full blast, with all the windows open, keeping everyone in the apartment block up. Through the week it wasn't too bad. She had to work & get up early each morning & thankfully avoided partying on a school night. but come weekend.... the 'fun' would start. 'chav-tastic' music at ear bleeding volume (no wonder she couldn't hear the banging on the walls!) On one occasion, she had at least 40-50 people in the apartment and in the car park to the rear, leaning on other peoples cars, drinking, smoking

Serious Case Of Road Rage

Couple of days ago I was stuck in some pretty crap traffic caused by a lorry carrying hay bails that had caught fire. Fortunately I keep a good selection of audiobooks and podcasts on me so I was able to do some mindset study as I listened to a book called 'The Code Of The Extraordinary Mind' (Awesome book btw). Whilst I sat in the traffic, I noticed people in cars around me getting frustrated and aggressive, particularly when I was the the slip road near to where the road closure had taken place. I watched as cars mounted grass

What Dollard, Dobb & Co Taught Me

When I was in college, I studied quite a few different subjects. Of course there was the standard Physical Education A Level you'd expect someone interested in sport and fitness to take. But alongside that, I studied sociology, psychology and also philosophy I loved social sciences, particularly psychology and the theory behind human behaviour. 'Why we think the things we do.' 'Do the things we do.' 'Or don't' on many occasions, 'Even when we know deep down we should!' I remember discussing the theory behind people that became aggressive because of frustration. It's actually called 'The Frustration/Aggression Hypothesis' and was proposed way back in 1930's by Dollard, Doob, Miller, Mower, and Sears. It goes some way to explain why some people get angry and confrontational when they are denied success

Can You Send Me More Information…

As you know, my emails can be pretty fiery. They can stir up some serious emotion in people. Usually after a particularly 'intense' email, (like the one coming next week...) i quite often get a direct response. As soon as i see the 'RE:[insert subject line], i know what's coming. Either, I'm getting some abuse because evidently i'm touched a nerve, so much so, the person has felt strongly enough to vent directly at me. If only they carried that same impassioned fire into achieving what it is they really wanted, they wouldn't be directing expletives at me via email, but anyway. Option 2 is less 'colourful', but no less frustrating. "I'm really interested in your programme,

Your Most Precious Resource

When I sent out my email yesterday, I didn't realise how much it would resonate with so many of you. The hourglass was seen by many as a representation of Time. You may not realise it, but Time is your most precious resource. It can determine so much about you, what you can do. What you can't do. Yet we are quick to waste it on things and people we neither need nor want. And when we are short of Time, we panic, filling what we do have with pointless tasks, that serve no purpose for what we truly want. Choosing to finish one last thing in the office instead of heading home for quality
