And They Charged Me £200!

There's fewer things more frustrating then when you invest in something and then don't get the 'Experience' you'd hoped for.   Take this 84yr old man in Germany for example He chose a particular "Red Hot" sex-line, hoping for some quality, XXX-Rated naughtiness. The recorded message that he tuned into was apparently too "tame" for his own personal tastes and he was left particularly underwhelmed and unsatisfied! (Don't you just hate it when that happens....) Anyway, it wasn't the only thing that left our poor old German friend less than impressed Especially when he received his phone bill.... £200!!

The Rat And The Mars Bar

There's some bizarre experiments carried out in the name of research. Being a bit of a nutritional geek, I often receive updates from published articled and recently one caught my eye. Not because of the ground breaking information it delivered ( pretty much ministry of the fcuking obvious if you ask me!) But because of the side story that accompanied it. A researcher removed part of a rats brain (a section of the hypothalamus) that controlled the desire to consume food and fluids. As expected, the rats didn't bother eating or drinking and died of starvation and dehydration. ( No

The Expensive Penis Extension

So apparently it's around that time of the year when many wealthy families from the warmer climates of the middle east flock to London, bringing with them some of the most expensive and highly sought after cars in the world. The areas around Knightsbridge are flooded with Bugattis, Ferraris, Lambourginis and the like. Cars that would cost more than some people earn in a lifetime. When you come from a wealthy oil-rich country, dropping a few £1000k on a car is probably not as big a deal as it would be to some people. After all, wealth and expenditure is

Bed-Post Notch Bull$hit

On Saturday I was travelling home and instead of my usual thing of listening to an audio book, I instead hit shuffle on my music. Now, I have a rather varied, eclectic taste in music, from classical to acoustic folk, to thrash metal from deep, tech house and RnB. So it was no surprise when Justin Timberlake followed a classical piece from Ludo Einaudi that was preceded by acoustic folk from Nick Harper. The thing is, the JT track was from his 1st album, Justified and it evoked so many memories, as music has a tendency to do. Back in 2002-2003 when that album came out, I was fresh

Let’s Get Ready To Rumbleeeeeee!

Morning! So, the biggest fight of the year is just a few hours away now and I'm looking forward to seeing how Kell Brook performs against one of the best lb-for-lb fighters in the world, GGG, Gennady Golovkin. Win, lose or draw, Brook has definitely earned some serious respect. Not only is GGG one of the most feared fighters in the world, meaning many have ducked out of fighting him, but Kell Brook is moving up 2 weight divisions to fight him! Serious respect! It's fair to say that Kell Brook has overcome any fear or doubt that he may of had before

What Dollard, Dobb & Co Taught Me

When I was in college, I studied quite a few different subjects. Of course there was the standard Physical Education A Level you'd expect someone interested in sport and fitness to take. But alongside that, I studied sociology, psychology and also philosophy I loved social sciences, particularly psychology and the theory behind human behaviour. 'Why we think the things we do.' 'Do the things we do.' 'Or don't' on many occasions, 'Even when we know deep down we should!' I remember discussing the theory behind people that became aggressive because of frustration. It's actually called 'The Frustration/Aggression Hypothesis' and was proposed way back in 1930's by Dollard, Doob, Miller, Mower, and Sears. It goes some way to explain why some people get angry and confrontational when they are denied success

Your Most Precious Resource

When I sent out my email yesterday, I didn't realise how much it would resonate with so many of you. The hourglass was seen by many as a representation of Time. You may not realise it, but Time is your most precious resource. It can determine so much about you, what you can do. What you can't do. Yet we are quick to waste it on things and people we neither need nor want. And when we are short of Time, we panic, filling what we do have with pointless tasks, that serve no purpose for what we truly want. Choosing to finish one last thing in the office instead of heading home for quality
